This Privacy Policy explains how QRScan (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when users access or use the QRScan iOS application (the “App”). We are committed to handling your data responsibly and transparently in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

- This Privacy Policy applies solely to the QRScan iOS app and describes:

- QRScan provides QR, barcode, and document scanning functionalities. Some features may require limited data processing to enable the App’s core functionality, perform analytics, or deliver optional ads and services.

- Article 6(1)(b) – Data necessary for providing the core scanning functionality
- Article 6(1)(f) – Legitimate interests, such as improving app quality, preventing fraud, and analyzing performance

- General Retention Policy
- Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for its intended purpose. When that purpose is fulfilled, data is deleted or anonymized unless longer storage is legally required.

5.1 Firebase Hosting
Some app resources, such as web pages or remote content, may be delivered via Firebase Hosting by Google LLC.
Data collected:
- IP address
- User agent information
- Usage:
- Security, abuse detection
- Traffic analytics
- Retention by Firebase: Temporary storage for several months.

5.2 Google AdMob (Ads)
If personalized ads are enabled (optional), we may use Google AdMob.
Collected data may include:
- IP address
- Device identifiers (IDFA)
- Interaction with ads
- Purpose:
- Delivering and billing personalized or non-personalized ads
- Fraud detection
- IP addresses automatically anonymized after Google’s retention period.
- Opt-out available through device privacy settings or Google’s Ads settings.
5.3 Firebase Analytics (Optional)
QRScan uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app usage patterns and improve user experience.
Collected data (non-personal):
- Device identifiers (IDFA/IDFV)
- Instance IDs
- Interaction events
- Scan type information (QR, UPC, EAN)
- Not collected:
- ❌ actual scanned content
- ❌ names, phone numbers, emails
- Retention:
- Instance ID data: 60 days
- Aggregated analytics: up to 14 months
- Users may disable analytics anytime in the app settings.
5.4 Firebase Remote Config
Remote Config allows us to deliver dynamic app settings (e.g., region-specific features).
Data collected:
- Instance IDs Retention: Up to 180 days
5.5 Crash Reporting (Crashlytics)
We use Firebase Crashlytics to detect crashes and improve stability.
Collected data (anonymized):
- Device status
- Device model
- Anonymous crash logs Retention: Up to 3 years
- No personal identifiers are stored.
5.6 External Website Links
When scanning barcodes or QR codes that contain URLs, the App may open external websites.
These sites may collect their own data such as:
- IP address
- Browser/device information
- The URL or barcode content you opened
- QRScan does not store or transmit scanned content to our own servers.
- Third-party websites follow their own privacy policies.
5.7 Apple iCloud (Optional Sync)
Users may choose to store scan history in their personal iCloud account.
- Data stored: scan history or exported files
- We do not access or store your iCloud data
- Apple’s privacy policy applies
- This feature is optional and controlled by the user.
5.8 Email Support
If you contact us via support@cdddlz.com, we may store:
- Your email address
- Conversation content
- Purpose:
- Customer support
- Troubleshooting
- Data is deleted when the support request is resolved.
